By What Power; By What Name
Acts 4:7
Hello, dear reader at the Prophetic Corner,
I hope that your new week is starting well. In this new week, let us remind ourselves about the name and power of Jesus Christ.
As believers, we are expected to live a life that demonstrates the power of God. Without the power of God, we can make no difference in our world. The Apostles did strange works and signs that they were questioned about the source of their power and the greatness of the name of Jesus Christ. Remember that the spiritual realm operates based on certain things, one of which is power. The kingdom of darkness and its children pride in the satanic powers they have and demonstrate. And because of how critical it is for us to go on the journey of life with power, Jesus Christ emphasized the need for His power. He said for as many that will receive Him and believe in His name, they will receive power to become the sons of God (John 1:12). He also said that we have been given the power to tread on serpents, scorpions and every power of the enemy (Lk10:19).
God highly exalted Jesus Christ and gave Him a name which is above every name (Phil 2:9-11). The power of God is real, and there is so much great power in the name of Jesus Christ. The more you don’t utilize the power in the name of Jesus Christ, the more you are short-changing yourself. Jesus healed so many people and did numerous miracles by the power of God (Matt9:8); and He promised us that whatever we ask in His name, He will do (Jn 14:13-14); even the Comforter which is the Holy Ghost was sent to us in the name of Jesus Christ (Jn 14:26). It is in that name that you are forgiven of your sins (1Jn2:12).
It is in the name of Jesus Christ that those who believe will demonstrate signs by casting out devils, speaking in new tongues, taking up serpents, unhurt by any deadly thing, carry out healing on the sick (Mk16:17-18). The apostles did numerous works, signs, and wonders by the power of the Holy Ghost they acquired in the upper room (Acts 2:1-10). Also, Apostle Paul admonishes us to do everything we do in the name of the Lord Jesus (Col 3:17). There is safety in the name of the LORD because it is a strong tower (Prov 18:10).
How then can you receive this power? Receive Jesus Christ and believe in His name, and also pray for the Holy Ghost to come upon you so you can receive His power (Acts 1:8). It is my prayer for you that your life shall be filled by the power of God.
