Hello, dear reader at the Prophetic Corner,
I hope that your new week is going well. Last week's Prophetic Corner message declared the resurrection of all good things in life. You can read more about it here: https://adewaleonagbesan.substack.com/p/lazarus-come-forth. In this new week, let us learn how to deepen our intimacy with God.
The Bible mentions that Jesus Christ and His disciples entered Bethany, the town of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus which He often visited (Mt21:17). And every time Jesus came into this town, Martha was the one who always received Jesus into her house (Lk10:38, Jn11:1) and she was very good at serving Jesus and being hospitable (Jn12:2). So, while Martha was pleased with making Jesus feel good, Mary instead was always interested in sitting at the feet of Jesus of Jesus to hear the words of Jesus (Lk10:39). Mary placed so much importance on being at the feet of Jesus than Martha who prefer to serve, because the feet of Jesus is a great place to be as a Christian. Mary treasure the act of anointing Jesus, especially the feet of Jesus where she loves to sit (Jn11:2).
As a Martha-kind of Christian, you could be the first to ever meet and receive Jesus Christ into your life, and even be greatly used by God, but this does not equal the encounter and level of intimacy needed for the journey of life, which the Mary-kind Christian would have because they value dwelling at the feet of Jesus. For instance, the Martha-kind of Christians would end up being like the disciples who became fearful when the great storm of wind began despite being on the same ship with the Lord Jesus Christ (Mk4:38). How well you have sat at the feet of Jesus would determine your level of faith in God (Mk4:40). To dwell at the feet of Jesus is a demonstration of our faith in God, and for every dweller at the feet of Jesus, they are always at peace (Lk7:36-50). Jesus Christ loves both those who dwell at His feet and those who serve (Jn11:5) but only the love He has for dwellers can cause Him to weep (Jn11:35).
The Martha-kind of Christians are always troubled and restless when issues arise (Jn11:20); they are full of worry, and doubt and see hardship in every situation (Jn11:21-23); they are incapable of seeing the possibility power of God (Jn11:24-27); they only know how to complain about situations. While the Mary-kind of Christians are calm and at peace (Jn11:20); they respond to the call of God because they value it (Jn11:28-30); they know that falling at the feet of Jesus during challenging times is the best place to be and pour out their heart (Jn11:32); their condition makes God to be troubled in His heart (Jn11:33); they know how to get things from God.
I pray that the LORD will help us daily in our walk with Him in Jesus’ name.
