The Strange Acts of God
Hello my dear friend at the Prophetic Corner
I trust you had a great weekend and your new week is starting well. So the past two weeks, we’ve been examining the series “Have you really encountered God?” which you can go back to: https://adewaleonagbesan.substack.com/p/have-you-really-encountered-god-2. The main point from these series is that we all need a divine encounter to make great exploits in our generation.
With that understanding, we are looking at something different this week. And that is always one of the major results of a divine encounter with God. It is titled; “The Strange Acts of God”.
In John 4:48, Jesus said to the nobleman of Galilee – except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. This explains that the strange acts of God are to strengthen our faith in God. This is because, without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb11:6). And the bible records several strange acts performed by God.
In Ex15:22-25, when Moses had brought out Israel from the Red Sea into the wilderness of Shur for 3 days without water, they located the bitter waters of Marah, and the people began to murmur. God showed Moses a tree which he cast into the waters to make it sweet.
In 2 Kings 2:21, when Elisha got to Jericho and the water was bad and the ground was barren. He healed the spring of the waters by pouring salt into it. Also, in 2Kings6:1-7, Elisha cut down a stick into the water to make the axe head float.
In Dan3, the Bible talks about the furnace experience of the three Hebrew men before king Nebuchadnezzar, and how God manifested Himself as the fourth man in the fire. These men came out of the fire unhurt and Nebuchadnezzar bowed to their God.
In John 2, Jesus changed water to wine at Cana of Galilee, and this confounded the governor of the feast. In Acts 2, upon the baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the apostles did several signs and wonders which brought fear upon every soul and they were converted to the Kingdom of God.
From these few examples, one evident thing is that God performs His strange acts when men cry out to Him, just like the experience of Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus. Also, the strange acts of God are done in strange ways that men may not be able to comprehend. These strange acts are God’s ways of bearing witness to His words and prophets.
It is my prayer for you in this new week that the God of signs and wonders shall visit you and your household, in the name of Jesus.
