Hello, dear reader at the Prophetic Corner,
I hope that your new week is going well. In last week's Prophetic Corner message, we learned about the Martha and Mary Christians. You can read more about it here: https://adewaleonagbesan.substack.com/p/the-martha-and-mary-christians. In this new week, let us know a bit more about sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Mary (Lazarus' sister) is a great example for us as Christians, to be interested in sitting at the feet of Jesus and hearing His word. Like Mary, sitting at the feet of Jesus is described by Jesus as the needful thing for every Christian and the good part that will not be taken away from you (Lk 10:42). The feet of Jesus is a place of deep worship of God where you give your time and resources. The feet of Jesus is the place to drop every weight of sin (Heb 12:1). It is a place we must adore, love, be, reverence, and prove our love for God.
To sit at Jesus' feet is to deepen your intimacy with God and dwell in His presence. As Christians, our greatest desire must be to dwell in the house of the LORD, and the goodness and mercy we enjoy should not take us away (Psalms 23:4). His presence is full of joy (Psalms 16:11), and it is the best place to call on the LORD, and He will hear your cry (Psalms 18:6).
It is at the feet of Jesus that the LORD would teach you numerous things and the Holy Ghost shall give you utterance for the tough moments of life (Lk 12:11-12). Just like the sinful woman who brought an alabaster box of ointment, it was at the feet of Jesus that we could have our sins forgiven and wiped off. So, no matter how big your sins are, they will be forgiven at the feet of Jesus. The promise of God to those who dwell in His presence is that they shall bring forth fruits in their old age, be fat, and flourish.
The Gadarene man who was possessed with demons, after being delivered, sat at the feet of Jesus (Lk 8:35). Also, Mary found no other places to anoint but the feet of Jesus (Jn 12:3). Unlike Ananias and Sapphira who manipulated their resources at the feet of the apostles.
To someone reading this piece right now, I say to you - come to the feet of Jesus. I pray that your intimacy with the LORD shall grow deeper daily in Jesus' name.
