The Mystery of Stones (2)

I trust you had a great weekend and your new week is starting well. Last week, we began a new series “The Mystery of Stones” which you can go back to here: https://adewaleonagbesan.substack.com/p/the-mystery-of-stones. This week, we shall continue with the series a bit further.

In the Bible, stones are one of the weapons of spiritual weapons. David prevailed over Goliath with his stone (1Sam17:49-50). Also, stones are used as tools of wickedness to cause blockage, hindrance, and bondage (Dan 6:17). Aside from this, stones connote establishment, and in many cases when God establishes a person, there is always a change of name, just like the story of Peter (John1:42), Abraham (Gen17:5), and Sarah (Gen17:15).

In many cases in the Bible whenever God shows up for different people and arose for their help or when God encounters men, they go on to set up an altar made of stone. For instance, Jacob set up an altar named Bethel (Gen35:14-15). Also, Samuel set up an altar between Mizpeh and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, which explains a dimension of God as Ebenezer, which connotes the LORD as a helper (1Sam7:12). Joshua also set up twelve stones amid Jordan (Josh4:9), Elijah built an altar with stones (Ikings18:30-38).

There are over 100 references to stones in the Bible. Moses received the commandment on tablets of stone on Mount Sinai (Deut9:9-11). Solomon had 80,000 hewers of stones (Ikings5:15).

Having carefully studied the Bible, it takes divine angelic intervention for stones to be rolled away (Luke24:1-5, John 20:1, 12). Above all, the stone in the hand of men is different from the stone in the hand of God (Ps118:22, Isa28:16, Mt.21:42). However, for God to establish you as a mighty stone, you must have an intimacy with the Chief Cornerstone, Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:20)

It is my prayer for you in this new week that every evil stone assigned against your greatness and manifestation shall be rolled away by the angels of God, in Jesus’ name.
